AVOCADO

As one of the oldest cultivated fruits, the avocado is a very rich source of vitamins and energy on the market.

Its particular flavor and its many purposes make it as well a vital ingredient currently in all kitchens as an essential element in healthy, balanced and rich menus.

With vitamins such as A, C, D, K and group B and folic, oleic and alpha-linoleic acid (omega-3 fatty acid), which is very rich in fibers, the avocado is a safe bet in any exquisite diet or dish.

HASS

The most commercialized variety is heart-shaped and its weight varies from 125 to 500 grams.

It has high heart benefits. Its peel is rough and easy to remove, it is green when it has been recently harvested, then it takes on a dark purple colour when it is ready to consume, it is the variety of avocados that contains the most pulp, with an intense flavour.

PINKERTON

With a similar size as a pear, a weight between 200 and 500 grams and an intense taste the PINKERTON avocado is consumed between the months of December and February and its centre consists of a small seed.

It has a thick peel, which is easy to remove. Unlike the HASS, it thinly darkens and this is the act of pressing the fruit that indicates us its level of maturity.

FUERTE

The avocado FUERTE is consumed between November and March, its skin is soft, thin and remains green, one needs to monitor its optimal level of maturity by pressing it delicately.  It texture is creamy and the light tone prevails on the thin green layer. With an approximate weight of 250 grams, it is one of the most tasty varieties.

BACON

Characterized by its shiny thin green peel which is easy to remove, its weight varies between 150 and 500 grams. It contains a large seed surrounded by a high quality pulp that offers to the palate a delicate taste. One can benefit from this long lifetime variety, of Californian origin, throughout the fall (October-December).

REED

With its original rounded shape and its light green tone, this avocado is covered with a thick peel which is easy to remove, quite smooth to the touch. Its average weight is between 200 and 500 grams. Endowed with a delicious pulp, it is marketable about spring, from February to April. Its peel remains green; a light pressing enables to know its exact level of maturity.

ZUTANO

This fruit is oval-shaped, its peel is smooth and shiny and the size of its internal seed varies from medium to large, its average weight is between 200 and 400 grams.  Its texture is light and its taste is delicate, this variety is harvested between the months of October and December.
